India will soon open the world’s loftiest road- bow ground over the Chenab swash in Kashmir for rail business. Chenab Rail Bridge is an Indian road sword and concrete bow ground between Baikal and Kauri in the Reais quarter of Jammu and Kashmir, India.
When completed, the ground will gauge the Chenab River at a height of 359 m (178 ft) above the swash, which is 35 measures high than Paris’ Eiffel Tower.
Constructed for ₹,486 crore, the Chenab ground aims to boost connectivity to the Kashmir Valley. According to the Ministry of Railroads, it’s said to be the biggest civil- engineering challenge faced by any road design in India in recent history.

Chenab Railway Bridge Unique Features
The ground is designed to repel high wind speed up to 266 Km/ hour.
The Chenab ground is designed for blast cargo in discussion with DRDO for the first time in India.
It’ll remain functional at a defined speed of 30 Km/ hour indeed after the junking of one pier/ trestle.
In the first, a Gradational Array Ultrasonic Testing machine was used for testing welds in an Indian Railroads design.
Approx. 584Km welding was done to join the different corridor of the structure, which is to the tune of the distance between Jammu Tawe to New Delhi.
