On August 12, 1919, Vikram Sarabhai was born in Ahmedabad, India. His full name is Vikram Ambalal Sarabhai and he was the son of Ambalal Sarabhai who was a Gujaratindustrialist.Dr. Vikram Ambalal Sarabhai was an Indian physicist and astronomer who started the space disquisition association and initiated the nuclear power plant in India. Because of his achievement, he is regarded as the Father of the Indian space program. He was honored with Padma Bhushan in 1966 and the Padma Vibhushan in 1972. Vikram Sarabhai passed away on December 30, 1971, in Kovalam.

Information about Vikram Sarabhai

Vikram Sarabhai was born on August 12, 1919, in a Gujarati artificial family. His father’s name was Ambalal Sarabhai he was an industrialist, a philanthropist, and the author of the Sarabhai group of companies. His mama’s name was Sarla Devi and he was the Eighth son of Ambalal Sarabhai. In 1942, Vikram Sarabhai married Mrinalini who was a classical dancer by profession. 

The couple had two children. His son’s name is Mallika, and she went on and came to an actress and an activist. His son’s name is Kartikeya he is one of the world’s leading environmentalist instructors and a devoted community builder, he was awarded the Padma Shri in 2012. During his continuance, Vikram Sarabhai rehearsed Jainism and devoted his life to erecting the Indian space program and that is why he is called the Father of the Indian space program.

  • In 1947, Vikram Sarabhai established the Physical Research Laboratory(PRL) in Ahmedabad. PRL is a National Research Institute for space and confederated knowledge.
  • Indian Institute of Management( IIM), Ahmedabad innovated on 11 December 1961 is considered to be the most stylish institute of operation in the country.
  • Sarabhai Community Science Centre( VASCSC) or the Community wisdom center was established in 1960 in Ahmedabad. VASCSC is working towards depleting wisdom and mathematics education among scholars, preceptors, and the public. Its main idea is to ameliorate and find innovative styles of scientific education.
  • Darpan Academy for Performing trades, Ahmedabad was innovated in 1949 along with his woman and is now been directed by his son Mallika Sarabhai for the last three decades.
  • Faster Breeder Test Reactor( FBTR), Kalpakkam was innovated in 1985 and it’s the testbed for fast energy reactors and materials.
  • Electronics Corporation of India Limited( ECIL), Hyderabad was innovated in 1967 to produce a strong indigenous base in electronics.

  • Vikram Sarabhai is regarded as the Father of the Indian space program internationally.
  • Vikram Sarabhai was awarded both the Padma Bhushan and the Padma Vibhushan in 1966 and 1972(posthumously) singly.
  • Vikram Sarabhai also played a pivotal part in developing operation education in India by launching the Indian Institute of Management(IIM).
